Agartala: May 25: Minister Bikash Debbarma recently attended an open discussion at Chinta Kumar Mausumpara in Dakshin Gokulnagar ADC village, where he shared insights into ongoing agricultural development and addressed concerns raised by local residents. The initiative, organized under the 29 Krishna Nagar Legislative Assembly, evolved into a public hearing due to the strong participation of farmers and community members.

One of the major issues highlighted was the increasing number of uncultivated farmlands. Following the meeting, Minister Debbarma visited the affected areas and observed large stretches of fallow land. Farmers attributed this to financial constraints and inadequate government support, which have hindered their ability to farm effectively.

Recognizing the seriousness of the issue, the minister assured that the state government would soon roll out a special financial package and other forms of assistance to boost agricultural activities. “Agriculture is the backbone of our economy. Leaving land uncultivated harms both farmers and the economy. We are committed to a permanent solution,” he stated.

In addition to agricultural concerns, citizens raised several other pressing issues, including poor infrastructure, water scarcity, deteriorating roads, challenges in education, pension-related delays, and unemployment. The minister assured that these concerns would be forwarded to the relevant departments for swift action.

Minister Debbarma emphasized his dedication to the community, saying, “I am not just a minister; I am your companion. Speak to me—I am listening, I am here.”

His visit and direct engagement underscored the government’s commitment to grassroots governance and responsive leadership. The open discussion has instilled a renewed sense of trust and optimism among the residents, who now look forward to tangible improvements in their daily lives.
