11 INPT, Tipra Motha activists join Congress

As many as 11 INPT and Tipra Motha activists joined the Congress Party on Monday in the presence of senior leaders of the party including TPCC President Asish Kumar and CWC invitee member Sudip Roy Barman.INPT leader Shib Chandra Debbarma from Takarjala led the party activists. A total of 42 voters joined the party, said CWC member Sudip Roy Barman.“Once upon a time these leaders have fought for the genuine demands of the indigenous communities of Tripura. They left no stones unturned to speak for the people. Today, they have realized that Congress is the right platform for them and hence they joined the Congress,” said Roy Barman.He also criticized regional political parties and claimed that some political parties had been trying to play with the sentiments of the indigenous people with hollow promises that were never going to materialize in reality.TPCC Chief Asish Kumar Saha welcomed the newcomers to the party
