Importers, exporters asked to adhere curbs on import from Bangladesh: LPAI official

Director of Industries & Commerce, (govt of Tripura) Sailesh Kumar Yadav has asked the exporters and importers of Tripura to adhere to the restrictions imposed by the Centre on import of certain goods from Bangladesh, said an official on Tuesday.The instruction came at a meeting of the Director with the exporters and importers of Agartala, Dharmanagar, Sonamura at Agartala Integrated Check Post (ICP) held on Monday.“Two day after the notification putting restrictions on import of certain goods from the neighbouring country by the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Govt of India, the Director held a meeting with all the stakeholders at Agartala ICP. At the meeting, Yadav read out the notification and asked the traders to adhere to the restriction”, Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI)’s Manager, Agartala ICP, Debasish Nandi said.He said the exporters and importers expressed their concern over the future of bilateral trade but assured that they will be able to continue trade through the ICPs and LCSs as per the new trade policy formulated by the Centre
